French Riviera, summer 2013

Hi everybody!
I want to share with you a wonderful trip in the South of France.
I traveled by car from Rome and the first stop was Saint Jean-Cap-Ferrat, a beautiful seaside village located on a peninsula between Nice and Monaco.

This is a nice view of the bay from my hotel, a small and comfortable 3 star hotel called Brise Marine which I strongly suggest because of its affordable rates.

There are 2 beautiful beaches: Plage de Paloma and Plage de Passable. Both are small and I strongly recommend that you call in advance to make a reservation otherwise you won't have beach umbrellas and sun beds.

                                                                   Plage de Passable

After going to the beach I visited an amazing villa built in 1906: Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild

The second stop was the Principality of Monaco, the second smallest country in the world, after the Vatican City.

This is the Palace of Prince Albert II, son of Grace Kelly and Rainier III.

But Monaco's most famous spot is Monte Carlo where there is the Casino that attracts gamblers from every part of the globe.

The third stop was Nice, another beautiful city located on the coast. The seaside walk is amazing and you can do fun and adventurous activities on the beach. I was too afraid to try them though!
                                                                      water sports!

One of the most famous hotels in Nice: Hotel Negresco. I had dinner at the restaurant Chantecler but it is really really expensive!

Me and my mom walking in the city center, called Vieux Nice that means old town.

The next stop was Cannes, the city of the film festival! There are a lot of famous hotels close to the beach and if you cannot afford a night you should at least have a walk inside.

The last stop was Saint Tropez, a resort for the European and American jet set! The famous french actress and model Brigitte Bardot gave fame to the village. There is a very long beach called Pampelonne and it is full of clubs for rich and famous people! The Club 55 is one of the oldest, it is very expensive and crowded, if you are in your twenties you should go to Nikki beach because at 6pm the music starts and everyone dances on the sun beds near the pool! I really loved the atmosphere there. Nightlife is what really attract people in St Tropez, there are incredible clubs and djs located in the surrounding aerea and you will notice that people there live during the night and sleep in the day. Beach clubs usually open at noon!

                                                                   Port of St Tropez

I hope you enjoyed the trip!!
Lorenza
